One of the Most Beautiful Lakes in the World: Kayangan Lake

I bought a boat tour from an agency I stopped by after yesterday’s dive (600 pesos). While waiting at the agency around 8:30 in the morning, I met Brazilian Eduardo, with whom we went diving yesterday.. When I said I was going to join the boat tour, he came back to the hotel and grabbed his bag and joined me.. As a tourist group of about 10 people, we got on the boat.. Our first stop is Kayangan Lake.

I read that Coron Island is a beautiful place for diving, but I didn’t know it had such beautiful places. We were leaving the town of Coron and heading towards the forest-covered mountains that zigzagged up into the sky.. However, when we approached the mountain, when we saw that there were passages between the rocks, many of us immediately turned to their cameras.

Everyone was excited by the view.. Our boat anchored somewhere behind dozens of boats that had passed through the gorges between the steep cliffs and approached the shore.. We went ashore through other boats.. The first thing that came to my mind was that I brought my tent and stayed here.

Lake Kayangan, The most visited place in Coron, it is known as the cleanest lake in the Philippines.. The turquoise-colored ocean, forest-covered limestone rocks, and crystal clear water that can be seen from the ground up to 10 meters overflows with visitors.. There is an entrance fee of 200P to enter Kayangan Lake, also known as the Blue Lagoon.. This price was included in the boat tour we took.

We started to climb the steps to the top, we can’t stop taking pictures.. There are large groups of tourists. There are many luxury resorts around. They brought their customers. Majority of Chinese, Korean and Japanese. As far as I can see, Koreans have a lot of interest in the Philippines.

When we reach the top, our mouths fell open at the sight of the greenish lake seen through the tree branches.. Looking back, I saw the blue of the Blue Lagoon and the gray cliffs around it, while in front of me stood the Kayangan Lake with its green-blue glow.. The water of the lake is clear, you can see the fish easily.. After spending 1 hour in Kayangan Lake, we returned to our boat.. It was hard to leave.

Vivien Beach We took a lunch break at a small beach with white sand right next to the steep limestone rocks.. There was even lobster with rice, fish, chicken. Mango, papaya, banana served. After some swimming and resting at Vivien Beach, we took a break for snorkeling at Twin Peaks.

There are hundreds of fish around us.. We took a break and snorkeled again at the place called Twin Lagoon. The coral reefs here are doing better. Maybe thousands of colorful fish surrounded our boat.

Finally, I can say for Banol Beach that we passed, it will definitely be on the list of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen so far.. a small beach. It has white sand almost like flour.. The gray, blackish rocks and forest surrounding the beach. At one point, I was distracted by the sound I heard while I was sleeping on the beach.. Something was moving among the dried leaves.

I noticed it as I grabbed my camera and slowly approached the sound.. A large monitor lizard was looking for something to hunt. At first, when I got close to him, he went away.. Half an hour later, when I saw the same or another monitor lizard, I was more cautious this time and took pictures.. This reptile is called the scavenger, the cleaner of the forest, as it can eat insect, bird, eggs, fruit, or whatever remains of tourists.. They can be aggressive when they feel uncomfortable.. The largest known monitor, the 2 meter tall lizard, was spotted in the Philippines.

We returned to Coron after staying at Banol Beach for about 2 hours.. The company where I bought the boat tour also sells tickets for the boats to my next stop, El Nido. Eduardo also decided to come with me. I reduced the price from 2200P to 1900 with a hard bargain.

I forgot to withdraw money at the airport on my way from Manila to Coron.. After paying for the boat to El Nido, I have very little money left in my pocket.. Fortunately, credit card is accepted at Kokosnus Resort where I stayed.. It is impossible to find a credit card in most places, there is no ATM in town where you can withdraw money with your visa, master or maestro card. A commission of 7 percent was added to the cost of accommodation and meals.

The next morning, the resort staff saw me off to the door.. They were all very friendly and sincere people.. The owner of the resort is a German with a Filipino wife.. It was Coron’s first resort. It was one of the places I enjoyed a lot.. I said goodbye to the German couple I met at the resort and went to the port.. Alan, the owner of my boat named Joe. American. Like Robinson Crusoe with his long hair. I want tea, coffee, internet and food on the boat. It was an obsolete somewhat large fishing boat.. The boat we were told as 8:30 left at 10:45.. Among the delays was Eduardo. we were only 4 tourists. While the waves were shaking the boat, I was spending time watching movies on my Tablet PC.. It didn’t take long for me to start feeling nauseous.. I asked Alan for a tablet. Half an hour later I was better. I chatted with the boat staff. The captain’s salary is 10.000 Pesos (420 TL). Not bad if you consider the salaries to be around 3000-5000 in Philippine conditions.

At 6:30 pm, after sunset, in the dark parliament blue color of the small town of El Nido, built at the foot of the mysterious big mountains.
