GREEK ISLANDS FROM BODRUM BY FERRY GREEK ISLANDS NEAREST TO BODRUM

The first country we went to was Greece. Greece is still our favorite European country.. In addition, since many of its islands can be reached by ferry from Turkey, it is easy to reach us and although it is in the Euro zone, it is not as expensive as an average European city.. As such, we wrote Greek Islands from Bodrum by ferry!

Our target this year is Patmos! Let’s see which one will be yours?

Greek Islands Traveling from Bodrum by Ferry

1-) Kos

The most frequently asked “Kos by Ferry from Bodrum) ” The most frequently visited Greek island from Bodrum is Kos, also known as Kos, because it is really close to Bodrum.. The ferry departs from Bodrum at 9:30 every morning and you are in Kos in 40 minutes.. In fact, when the summer application starts (from 1 June every year), the ferry departs from Turgutreis once a day.. There are many people who come to Kos by ferry in the morning and return by ferry in the evening on the same day, but we recommend you to stay for at least 1 night..

If you have time in Kos, you can visit the beaches, discover the historical beauties of the island, and tour the colorful shopping shops..

You can enter Kos with a gate visa.

2-) Kalymnos

Kalymnos is one of the closest Greek islands to Bodrum. It takes less than 1 hour to reach Kalymnos by ferry from Bodrum..

We think that the reason why Kalymnos is not as popular as Kos among Turks is that it cannot be entered with a gate visa, because Sengen or a green passport is required..

Pothia’a is the center of Kalymnos. Vathi, Panormos and Massouri places to be on your itinerary. During the summer, you can make an escape to Kalymnos and make a very convenient trip.

Unfortunately, you cannot enter Kalymnos with a door visa.

You can continue to the Greek Islands, which you can go to by ferry from Bodrum..

3-) Patmos

We came to Patmos, which is on our 2020 list!

Patmos is considered one of the most beautiful islands of the Aegean and is a little quieter than its neighboring islands.. Exactly one of those white textured and old architecture islands that come to mind when the Greek island is mentioned.. One of the reasons it is so popular with Christians is that it is believed that the last chapter of the Bible was written here.

The main attractions are the Chora district, the Cave of the Apocalypse (listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site), Skala, Grikos Bay and Skala, and of course its beaches. !

You can’t go to Patmos with a gate visa. Maybe it will change in the future.. Then continue our list of Greek islands from which you can go by ferry from Bodrum.

4-) Leros

Leros, which is located between the islands of Patmos and Kalymnos, is the largest of these islands. the one who has many bays. In fact, one of its bays, Lakki, is the largest port of the 12 islands..

Because it is a very quiet island, so are its bays.. More coves with no facilities than ‘beaches’. We can say that the summary of the island is white houses, narrow streets and calmness.. The most recommended dark is Panteli Bay. Zorba taverna is the most popular tavern..

There are also many underwater and surface WWII ruins on the island, because it was the scene of skirmishes in the Second World War.. There are also traces of Italians and Ottomans on the island..

Don’t forget to add Agia Marina, Panteli bay, Platanos and Leros castle to your places to visit!

The distance between Turgutreis and Leros takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.. Unfortunately, Leros cannot be entered with a gate visa..

5-) Symi

We can say Simi, the Greek island whose silhouette we love the most! Even when you look at their photos on the internet, those colorful houses will attract your attention..

Simi is located in front of Bozburun peninsula and very close to Rhodes. There are even daily tours from Rhodes to Symi..

Mikail Angel Monastery, Giolos, Chorio town, Pedi beach and coves are among the places to visit in Symi.. We love all the Greek islands, but Symi and Rhodes are different places..

It takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes by ferry between Bodrum and Symi.. No door visa service unfortunately.

6- Rhodes

We left our favorite for last! Rhodes is our favorite place among the places we visited in Greece so far and its place is always special for us.. Those streets, taverns, people and magnificent coves are one with their appetizers! As of 2019, it can even be entered with a door visa..
